Ride Safety Guidelines:
1. You must be registered for the ride on the RBC website.
2. Follow all rules of the road. Do not cross the centerline of the road or pass slowing/stopped cars. Stay in the right lane of traffic at all times, except for when moving across to make a left turn. Do not ride more than two abreast.
3. You are responsible for the riders behind you. Do not enter an intersection unless it is safe for all of the riders behind you. If you enter an intersection and riders behind you stop for a car, you are expected to wait for them. It’s a misconception among cyclists that if one can beat a car through an intersection, one is entitled or even required to do so.
4. Ride with the group, and for the group. Call out potholes or debris, especially on Lawyer’s Rd. No racing or chasing riders who go decide to go off the front.
5. Be considerate of the neighborhoods in which we ride, even if it requires the group to slow down.
6. No TT or tri bikes, clip on aero bars, or 'puppy paws' position. No e-bikes or earbuds – (open ear phones okay). Move away from other people before blowing snot rockets. All bikes must have front and rear brakes - no fixies.
Rides are not held when the forecast for rain is greater than 50%. Ride cancellations will be sent via email and posted under ANNOUNCEMENTS on the RBC website homepage.
