Saturday A/B Ride to Leesburg & Back

This ride launches as one group and splits into A (22-24 mph) and B (19-21 mph) groups at Smith's Switch. Please respect the pace of the B group if you join the B group - no "watt bombs," passing on the right, etc.

Ride Guidelines:

1. You must be registered for the ride on the RBC website. 
2. Do not cross the centerline of the road or pass slowing/stopped cars. Stay in the right lane of traffic at all times, except for when moving across to make a left turn.
3. You are responsible for the riders behind you. Do not enter an intersection unless it is safe for all of the riders behind you.
4. Be respectful of other traffic on the W&OD trail. Ride single file and let gaps open if need be to ensure safety of other riders. DO NOT race on the trail - the fast portion of the ride begins at Smith Switch, and it is over once we turn off of Pacific. W&OD “Golden Rule”: treat other W&OD users the way you want cars to treat us on open roads.
5. Help the group flow smoothly by protecting your front wheel, merging carefully into the draft, and holding your line and position into corners. If you don't want to pull, please communicate that clearly to other riders and stay at the back of the group so as to avoid disrupting the rotation at the front.
6. No e-bikes are allowed. No TT bikes, clip on aero bars or riding in “puppy paws” position. All bikes must have front and rear brakes - no fixies.
