Not Quite Last Weekend Brunch Adventure Ride - July 2019

TRULY BRUNCH!

NOTE: NEW START TIME

Due to travel schedules, we'll gather early this month and due to heat, we'll start earlier. But, we will actually do a BRUNCH destination so it all works out well. We will gather in Herndon and snake back through Reston before we head west to brunch. It will be 17 miles to brunch (we're a friendly bunch so we can pause at the 10 mile point if need be). But heading back - it's only 7. It's getting hot so we're moving the time back for an earlier start. Meet at 7:45AM and we roll at 8:000AM.

This is a series of more social rides with a slower pace, an enjoyable destination, and no urgency to get anywhere by anytime. The distance for this one will be about 25 miles total, with a brunch stop 3/4 of the way through. This is a great ride for a loved one to meet you if you think you might eat too much and need a ride home. :-)

The ride is limited to 25 riders. Riders should be able to sustain a 10mph pace over 20 miles.

No land-speed records being set here, this is about the company and, of course, lunch! The route will be a mix of paved bike trails and roads; a great opportunity to begin to venture beyond the trails and find some new destinations you can reach on two wheels.

The exact destination will not be revealed until the riders sign up -- that’s part of the adventure. All riders must sign (or have already signed for 2019) a liability waiver. You can do that HERE. The first ride with us is free. We welcome you to join us on subsequent rides as a member. Membership is $25 per year and you can take care of that HERE.

We can assure you this:

  1. The destination always involves food (bring your wallet because we’re leading but not buying!)
  2. Bring a lock and some type of hydration.
  3. No one gets left behind unless they want to be.
  4. Every rider must wear a helmet.

We hope to be back by 1. But we’re all adults, so if you want to stay longer at the destination or go your own way after brunch, by all means, have a great time.

Well behaved adults are welcome, and children who have those same standards may bring their parents if they can vouch for their behavior as well.

If a non-riding spouse/partner/friend wants to meet us at the destination for brunch, that's great!
