Last Sunday Brunch Adventure Ride - June 2018

With apologies to the purists amongst us, I'm calling June 31 (i.e., July 1) the last Sunday in June this year for purposes of our ride as none of the ride leaders are available for the real last Sunday in June.

So Sunday, July 1, we'll gather in Reston to go on a bit of a wander in search of a good brunch menu. See the details below and be sure to register! Due to the increasing temps, I'm backing up the start time a bit too. Meet at 8:15 and we roll promptly at 8:30.

This is a series of more social rides with a slower pace, an enjoyable destination, and no urgency to get anywhere by anytime.

The ride is limited to 25 riders and we'll stretch our legs a bit this time -- 17 miles to brunch, but well worth it as we visit a classic brunch location in Shirlington. There's a bailout option to Metro at mile 22 on the way back, (East Falls Church Station) if you're running short of energy or time.

No land-speed records being set here, this is about the company and, of course, lunch! The route will be a mix of paved bike trails and roads; a great opportunity to begin to venture beyond the trails and find some new destinations you can reach on two wheels.

The exact destination will not be revealed until the riders sign up -- that’s part of the adventure. All riders must sign (or have already signed for 2018) a liability waiver. You can do that HERE. The first ride with us is free. We welcome you to join us on subsequent rides as a member. Membership is $25 per year and you can take care of that HERE.

We can assure you this:

  1. The destination always involves food (bring your wallet because we’re leading but not buying!)
  2. No one gets left behind unless they want to be.
  3. Every rider must wear a helmet.

We hope to be back by 1. But we’re all adults, so if you want to stay longer at the destination or go your own way after brunch, by all means, have a great time.

Well behaved adults are welcome, and children who have those same standards may bring their parents if they can vouch for their behavior as well.

If a non-riding spouse/partner/friend wants to meet us at the destination for brunch, that's great!
