Gravel Route Information This year, Reston Bike Club is adding a gravel option to our annual Century. This is in direct response to feedback from our members and guests and the explosive growth in gravel cycling over the years. We are going to build upon our 40 year history of the Century in a new and exciting direction. So what is the plan? Gravel riders will start and end at the Leesburg rest stop (NOT Reston Town Center), and will be supported at the Lovettsville, and Hamilton/Old Mill stop. The route is approximately 60 miles and goes north through Waterford to Lovettsville, south through Purcellville, and then east to Hamilton/Old Mill before returning to the Leesburg rest stop. Rather than have the gravel riders then drive to Reston Town Center for the post ride meal, we will have a catered lunch at the end in Leesburg. We are still finalizing the route, but it will be challenging and intended for experienced gravel riders. SAG support will be available, but will require getting to a paved road. Additionally, portions of the route have spotty/limited cell phone coverage. Questions? Email info@restonbikeclub.org |
