Our Favorite Trail and Public Art

We're back in our own area again using the W&OD and local roads to go see some fun public art. Hint: it's not in Reston! We'll start at the W&OD Trail Parking Lot at Rt. 28, and ride to somewhere that has lovely artwork to enjoy as well as a wonderful spot for a coffee break! The distance is 22 miles round trip, 95% W&OD, and we'll proceed at a 10-12 mph pace.

Since we're on the trail so much, here are some reminders:

A note about passing: We pass ONLY on the left. We call our passes to the rider or pedestrian in front of us. We allow plenty of room. If there are oncoming riders, just WAIT until you can pass without terrorizing the pedestrian or slower rider.

This is a social ride, designed for people who are more about the journey than the speed. Our ride leaders will set the pace. If you want to go faster than the group pace set by the ride leaders, we will wave goodbye to you and wish you well.

We are paper-free, which means you can download the route from RidewithGPS and print it before you come, but we will not have paper cue sheets to distribute at the ride.  (We will send you the route after you register)

The ride is limited to 17 participants including ride leaders. Riders should be able to sustain a 10mph pace over 20 miles.

All riders must sign (or have already signed for 2021) a liability waiver. You can do that HERE. The first ride with us is free. We welcome you to join us on subsequent rides as a member. Membership is $25 per year and you can take care of that HERE.

Important Notes:

1. We will stop for coffee mid-way (or drink of your choice).
2. We will not be locking our bikes anywhere this time. But bring some type of hydration.
3. No one gets left behind unless they want to be.
4. Every rider must wear a helmet.
